Friday, 10 March 2006

PENDUKA is a non-governmental development organisation working with women in Namibia. In the Oshiwambo and Otjiherero languages the word Penduka means "Wake Up!" Through our programme we encourage and support women throughout the country to take charge of their lives.

Glass Beads
Friday, 26 January 2007

In close co-operation with CLaSH (the Association for Children with Language Speech and Hearing Impairments of Namibia) PENDUKA hosted a glass beads making workshop. The workshop was facilitated by trainers from Ghana (Cedi and his brother Kudjo Owuso).

The idea for a glass bead project was born in 2004. CLaSH realised the need for income generating projects for deaf adults. Children, who had previously attended the CLaSH pre-school unit and now left school, came back to CLaSH looking for work or training.

Pambilishop works together with fair trade, industrial art and development cooperation organisations.
